Jeff's Running (b)log -- I have to get in shape for wasatch back relay that I so foolishly signed up for, so I'm hoping a running log should help with my motivation (IE, peer pressure from team-mates who can now see what I am (or am not) doing.) :)
As I posted below, today was my first back-to-back run. My first run was at 7:00 a.m., 4.9 miles. Tonights was at 6:00 p.m., still quite hot, for 4.1 miles. I ran my standard hill course. It as really hard going out, but coming back I could find more shade. At the very end I forgot to check my time, which annoyed me. I think it was 10:00 pace or faster. This run had me running in weather likely very similar to my first leg of the Wasatch Back, HOT. One unique thing about this run - my cool down consisted of walking around my yard pushing a lawn mower. Hey, it's a cool down, even if its unusual. Overall I feel really great. Despite the heat this was a really good run, with practically no walk breaks needed.
Now I just need to figure out whether to do my triple run (3x4miles) next week, or the Friday before I head to Germany for a week(4th of June). I do not know what the best approach is. Yes, I'll be running the Wasatch Back while fighting jet lag (or working with it, if I do it right).
