Well, I hit my personal longest distance today. 3 years ago I ran 11 miles, and finally I am back to repeating the feat. I started up South Fork of Provo Canyon, 2 miles higher than my seven mile run 4 or so weeks ago. Then off course the beautiful run down the
Provo River Parkway Trail down to the trailhead (9 miles). I then made a guess at 1.5 miles past the trailhead and back. I think I really hit somewhere just over a mile, so I ran between 11 and 12 miles.
I felt great, and as long as I can control my speed in the steep first part of the race in 2 weeks, 13 miles should not be bad at all.
There were a lot of people on the trail today, possibly getting ready for the
Provo 1/2 as well. It looked like most were running 1/2 the distance up then returning to the trailhead.
Now it's time for tapering.... Next week I'm doing 5, 5, 9, then 2x3 the week after and then the big race!
