Jeff's Running (b)log -- I have to get in shape for wasatch back relay that I so foolishly signed up for, so I'm hoping a running log should help with my motivation (IE, peer pressure from team-mates who can now see what I am (or am not) doing.) :)

On Tuesday morning I hit the streets for a speed training workout. To this point I have only done speed training on a treadmill. Man, it is much harder on the road. I think I speed up way too much and therefore burn out quicker than intended. I forced myself to push through and keep doing more intervals even though I really wanted to just walk home. It really became a mental struggle. One of those where you have to tell yourself how good for you the pain is that you are feeling.

Needless to say my legs were still aching on Thursday when I went back to the treadmill in the gym for another speed workout. (I was indoors due to the heat and since I couldn't run outside in the morning, since Tara is in D.C.) This workout was a lot easier to pace and control, and a lot easier as far as that goes. But, it was still harder than my previous treadmill speed trainings, probably due to my legs already being hammered.
