Health Insurance Reimbursements
Some of our online courses may be eligible for a health insurance or HSA/FSA reimbursement. These reimbursements are never guaranteed. If a reimbursement is important to you, we recommend contacting your health insurance before enrolling in one of our courses. It is the customer’s responsibility to correctly file for these reimbursements. We are not responsible for denials or delays.
Refund Policy
Your satisfaction is very important to us, which is why we may occasionally offer free trials for some of our offerings and/or refunds. Please read carefully to understand our policies. Free trials: if you sign up for a course or membership using a free trial, the first payment immediately following a trial period is not eligible for a refund. However, you can easily cancel during the trial period before you are charged (log into a browser (not the mobile app), select your profile at the top right, select Billing, click the three dots next to your plan, select Cancel). You will retain member benefits until the end of your trial. Second payment periods and beyond are eligible for refunds. Membership customers have 14 days to request a refund in these cases. These refunds may be subject to proration. Membership customers not utilizing a free trial have 14 days to request a refund starting on the day their membership began. If we terminate your membership account for not complying with our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines, no prior payments will be refunded. Add-on or standalone courses: customers have 30 days from the purchase date to request to a refund. Please remember, we never guarantee health insurance reimbursements for our courses. If your insurance rejects your request for reimbursement, and the 30 day refund window has expired, you are not eligible for a refund. To maintain fairness to all customers, there are no exceptions to these policies.
Installment Plans
Some standalone/add-on courses may be purchased via installment plans. Unlike the Balanced Families Membership, which is a subscription service, installment plans for standalone/add-on courses are not subscriptions. Installment plans cannot be canceled. Installment plan customers are obligated to fulfill all payments of the chosen installment plan at the time of purchase. Installment plan customers receive all the same benefits as one-time purchase customers. If an installment plan customer wishes to request a refund, the same refund policy above will apply.
Community Guidelines
If you choose to join the Balanced Families Membership, you are agreeing to help us create an uplifting, supportive, and encouraging environment. Here are the guidelines each member is expected to uphold:
Be kind, courteous, and respectful.
No profanity or vulgar speech.
Avoid controversial topics. This would include topics like politics, vaccines, circumcision, etc. You are welcome to DM with members privately about these topics as long as the discussion follows community guidelines.
Protect member privacy. Sharing anything about a member or a member’s activity without their consent is strictly prohibited.
Keep discussions relevant. For example, avoid posting toddler questions on the pregnancy group or vice versa.
No promotions or soliciting. Note: we may give special exceptions for members with exceptional circumstances. (Example: a member’s spouse is undergoing cancer treatment and the member wants to share a GoFundMe page.) But this must be approved first by a moderator.
Remember this is about support. This community is not a substitute for medical advice, professional counsel, or mental health care. Always consult with a physician or other professional if you have specific questions about your physical, mental, financial, or relational health. If a member’s activities suggest a need for more specialized help, moderators may recommend resources, limit participation, or, if necessary, remove a member to ensure their needs are addressed appropriately. If you are ever concerned that another member may hurt themselves or others, please do not hesitate to contact a moderator or flag the specific post or comment that causes concern.
Our moderators reserve the right, at any time and for any reason not specified, to flag or remove a member’s post if they determine it violates our community guidelines or they would like more time to determine if a post is in compliance. If, for any reason, our moderators decide to permanently remove a post, they will do their best to communicate with members and give guidance on how to avoid a ban in the future.
If, for any reason, a member needs to be suspended or removed from the community, this would be done only after multiple or severe infractions that would be clearly documented and explained for the member. If a member is removed, they are not entitled to a refund, but their future payments would be canceled indefinitely.
We reserve the right to modify and refine these guidelines at any time.
